Mara Stamatovski was born in Sibenik on April 18th 1955. She has practiced the trade and art of painting since her early youth. She professes the ease of the painters trade and the unpretentious gift of becoming an artist wherever and whenever she can. Her dream of blending into the world of images opened up long forgotten artistic domains. In her case, paintings are not always bound to the canvas nor limited by frames; actually, her paintings are married to objects and pieces of furniture, becoming an integral part of a closet, glass showcases and chests, dressing tables and many other things. All this has given birth to a new role of the artists:

Mara Stamatovski designs, handcrafts and paints unique pieces of furniture, protracting thus the Serbian tradition of painted urban furniture. Mara Stamatovski lives with her paintings. She lives and works in Obrenovac.
